Japan may force hybrid cars to manufacture more noise

When my Prius kicks into electric mode, it goes nearly silent. That’s a problem for the visually impaired considering they rely on engine noise to figure out where the
cars are. Now, a Japanese transport ministry has launched a panel to explore whether some kind of noise-making device should be added to hybrid cars for safety.
